In 1998, Torricelli left Juventus to join Fiorentina where he joined his former Juventus coach Trapattoni. He played in Florence for another four seasons, helping the club to win the 2000–01 Coppa Italia.

Torricelli played at right-back in the 2-0 defeat of Manchester United in the 1999 Champions League group stage with goals from Batistuta and Balbo.
