Gmail – Better Than Hotmail?
Gmail was launched on 1 April, 2004 by Google as it’s official e-mail offering. At the time many people regarded e-mail as beginning to gradual after the initial rush and uptake that it had seen in the late 1990s. The introduction of Gmail in 2004 revolutionised e mail and created a more efficient and faster service that provided email to thousands and thousands across the world.
Gmail’s real achievements is in the way emails are displayed. They’re listed in ‘conversation’ style bins so the e-mail thread is far more easily read. Whereas with other email suppliers, conversations are very boxy and bitty, Gmail gives a more fluid interface for every access and navigation that enables users to simply entry and skim by way of lengthy emails.
